Drone Warfare: Killing More Lives Than Saving
It wasn't until toward the end of the first decade of the 21st century, that drone strikes became viable ways of conducting military operations. With it has come many questions such as, how do we know that who we are bombing are enemy combatants? Without recon that our soldiers used to do prior to the bombing of a "military" target we have no clue as to whether or not a compound is an enemy, friendly, or neutral target.
The American military is rewriting the code of engagement with these drone strikes as well. Much like Mustard Gas and Napalm, there is no way to surrender to a machine that is two miles in the air and controlled by a man in an air conditioned room in Arizona.
Why is it that American mentality is that they are the ones who will get to decide whether a foreigner will live or not? Only a little over a year ago Obama authorized a Drone strike on a United States citizen who was on foreign soil on the basis that he had suspected links to terrorism. This is not a section dedicated to hating President Obama, but this is a section calling to question his arbitrary use of drone strikes.
Obama is the first president to have this kind of power at his disposal and while he is not a tyrannical leader by any means. He has however gotten far too comfortable with his use of drones in the war zone.

There is the mentality that the preservation of an American soldiers life is above everything and that is why the military relies so heavily on drone strikes. I would like to counter and argue that no life is more precious than anyone else's. The three children were killed in a drone strike did nothing wrong except be at the wrong place at the wrong time. If this was happening in the United States how long would this last? American's wonder why there is such hate for Westerner's in the Middle East.
